About The Author

Hi! I'm Debra

For the past 25 years I’ve been helping clients feel better and improve their lives. Through my work, I’ve also been a pioneer in one of the newest experiential therapies, Cooking Therapy.

I see so many people trying to fill so many roles, and be everything to everyone; it's a clear ‘recipe’ for way too much stress and anxiety and disconnected relationships. And that’s why I’ve spent so much time developing this tangible therapy, training colleagues all over the world, and spreading the word.

How Cooking Therapy Was Born...

After receiving my undergraduate degree from The University of Michigan and a Masters of Social Work from Fordham University, I became a Certified School Social Worker and then a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in NY and NJ.

It was my experience working with teens, young adults, and families that led me to believe that a tangible therapy would benefit almost any client. When I tried cooking therapy with clients and saw their results, I realized that combining cooking and therapy was an untapped but upcoming clinical combination with truly life-changing potential.
